An Inviting Escape

Come and experience the graciousness of a previous age.  Built in 1917, The Post Cottage has been restored and preserved to evoke it's rich history while offering its guests an array of luxurious modern comforts.

  • The proximity of the B&B to the Thomas Cole Historic Site was a real plus, and it was easy to get to the other prime sites in the region.

The Post Cottage is located next door to Cedar Grove, which is a National Historic Site and the home of Thomas Cole, founder of the Hudson River School of painting. Just across the Hudson River is Olana, the Persian style mansion of Frederic Edwin Church, another famed Hudson River School artist. We are a walk away from Catskill’s shops and restaurants, just across the river from Hudson, NY’s famous antique shops, and well situated to ski at Hunter and Windham or explore any destination in the Catskill Mountains.

We look forward to seeing you.
